By the end of this course, learners will be able to: Explain the importance of aligning quality improvement initiatives with organizational mission, vision, and strategic priorities. Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics used to measure healthcare quality and performance. Apply regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., JCAHO, CMS, HEDIS) to organizational quality programs. Analyze data to track performance trends and ensure QI initiatives support organizational effectiveness. Integrate quality improvement strategies with operational planning and resource management. Evaluate the impact of organizational culture on quality improvement outcomes and sustainability. Prerequisites: Completion of Units 5.1–5.3 within this module. Knowledge of healthcare data analysis, performance metrics, and benchmarking (Module 4: Healthcare Performance Metrics and Data Analysis). Familiarity with quality assurance principles and strategic planning concepts from earlier modules. Rationale: Before aligning quality improvement efforts with organizational goals, learners must understand data-driven performance monitoring and strategic quality frameworks. This ensures they can link quality projects to measurable business and clinical outcomes.
