By the end of this course, learners will be able to: Explain the structure and purpose of CMS reporting programs, including MIPS and CAH systems. Identify the performance categories and scoring methodologies used in the MIPS program. Collect and prepare data for submission under CMS quality reporting requirements. Apply CMS guidelines to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance during reporting. Interpret MIPS and CAH performance reports to evaluate reimbursement and performance outcomes. Prerequisites: Completion of Units 4.1–4.4 in this module. Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation frameworks from Module 3 (Compliance and Regulatory Standards), particularly: Unit 3.3 (CMS Regulations and Accreditation Standards) Unit 3.4 (Auditing and Ensuring Compliance) Familiarity with performance data submission, report validation, and compliance monitoring. Rationale: This capstone course builds on all previous units, requiring learners to apply analytical, regulatory, and quality improvement skills to manage CMS-based reporting systems (MIPS and CAH). Prior mastery of performance measurement and compliance systems is essential for effective participation.
