Define the concept of auditing and explain its fundamental importance in ensuring healthcare compliance and organizational integrity. Identify and differentiate between various types of audits commonly conducted in healthcare organizations (e.g., financial, compliance, operational, clinical, coding). Explain the distinct role and responsibilities of internal auditors within healthcare organizations. Discuss the key objectives of a healthcare audit and outline the systematic process involved in conducting an effective audit. Analyze the critical importance of thorough audit documentation and effective reporting in maintaining healthcare compliance and accountability. Analyze the roles and interrelationships of key stakeholders involved in the healthcare auditing process.
