Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is no longer simply a regulatory requirement—it is the foundation for lifelong learning, professional credibility, career advancement, and workforce readiness. As healthcare rapidly embraces digital technologies, laboratory professionals must also develop the digital competencies necessary to manage their professional growth effectively.

This introductory webinar equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to begin a successful CPD journey in a digital learning environment. Participants will learn how to navigate online learning platforms, build a professional digital profile, maintain digital learning records, understand competency-based learning pathways, and create a personalized CPD development plan aligned with KMLTTB requirements and future career goals.

The session also introduces Coral MED's digital learning ecosystem and demonstrates how laboratory professionals can use technology to support lifelong learning, competency development, and career progression.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the purpose and importance of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in maintaining professional competence.
  2. Describe the role of digital learning in modern laboratory practice.
  3. Navigate an online learning management system (LMS) to access courses, learning resources, assessments, and certificates.
  4. Create and maintain a professional digital learning profile.
  5. Develop an individualized CPD learning plan aligned with professional goals.
  6. Identify digital tools that support lifelong learning, collaboration, and professional networking.
  7. Demonstrate best practices for managing digital certificates, transcripts, and professional portfolios.

Participants should:

  • Be a registered or aspiring medical laboratory professional, healthcare professional, educator, student, or healthcare leader.
  • Possess basic computer literacy, including the ability to use a web browser, email, and mobile device.
  • Have access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a reliable internet connection.
  • Be willing to actively participate in discussions, polls, and course activities throughout the webinar.

This course is designed as an introductory session and serves as the recommended starting point for participants beginning their Coral MED and KMLTTB professional learning journey.

Participants are encouraged to join the webinar a few minutes early to resolve any technical issues 4. Participants are responsible for ensuring they have a stable internet connection, compatible devices (computer, tablet, or smartphone), and recommended browsers. 5. A microphone and webcam may be required for interactive sessions. Please test your audio and video settings in advance. 6. The webinar may be recorded for educational purposes. 7. Recorded sessions may be shared with registered participants after the webinar. 8. Please be mindful not to share personal or confidential information during the webinar. 9. A detailed agenda will be provided, and each session will adhere to the schedule to cover all planned topics. 10. Time will be allocated for Q&A sessions and discussions. 11. A helpdesk or contact information for technical support will be provided during the webinar. 12. Common technical issues will be addressed at the beginning of the session. 13. Relevant resources, such as presentation slides or additional reading materials, will be shared after the webinar. 14. Attendance

Attendance will be monitored throughout the webinar using Google Meet attendance records and the Coral MED Learning Management System (LMS). Participants are expected to attend the entire session to maximize learning and qualify for CPD credit.

CPD Credit Requirements

CPD certificates will be issued only to participants who successfully meet all participation and completion requirements, subject to KMLTTB CPD policies.

Academic Integrity
